To be a master, you must remain a student forever
Growing up as the art kid in a small town, I knew that art school would be the decision to make once my parents made it clear a gap year wasn’t an option.
3 Years in Hamburg, Germany’s finest city, has made me come out of my shell especially when it comes to art. Not only did I learn about filming and lighting equipment, which I haven’t really touched before, but my mentors taught me the valuable lesson of truly expressing what makes me unique and letting that essence guide the decisions I make in my work. I started collaborating with people instead of seeing them as my enemies and even got into writing and directing!
Having now graduated and still seeing my rawest passion in animation and writing, I’m opening myself up to opportunities all around the world as I am yet to find mentors in the discipline of feature film animation!
My endgoal, if there is even such a thing - so I’ll say for the moment - to remake Tokyo Ghoul. I think this painfully human story captures the human condition in a way that will touch every young man that lays their eyes upon it. Putting the panels to the screen once again with my own interpretations as a young man, would be an honor and a brilliant excuse to put my entire being into it!
